I need new indicators on the YZF and for the same price I can have led ones, but I cant see how they will fit as the oe ones have the botton flaired bit that the screw goes into to attach it but the led ones dont have that....am i being stupid??!!? lol

I havent got the oe screw bits either.

You'll use that bolt to tighten behind the fairing?

Then that would a gap as the hole in the fairing is oblong shaped for the oe indicator.

I have the kind in the first picture on my Thunderace (lot of nice aftermarket mods done to that prior to my purchase). They need wiring up too, original owner didn't have time, already has Xenon LEDs for main lights though so it has the relay. Look like OE ones but are super bright in comparison, same fitting. Will try to get a pic at some point.

Yes, sorry.

The threaded bit on the LED's will go into the holes where the OEM screw went, the nut on the back then tightens it down to hold it in place.

Be aware, you will need to change all of the indicators to LED's and ensure you have some sort of resistor fitted. You need this because LED's have a much lower resistance to normal bulbs, so the flasher unit flashes either twice as fast or not at all and can burn itself out. Maybe someone with more electrickery knowledge will come along and improve upon this.

Then you need some indicator spacers for a Yamaha to fill the gap.

No you don't need to replace all with LEDs.
Get a load independent flasher relay.
Example 3 pin one on eBay here or from UK here (2 pin here).
Others will be on there and other places too.

Just replace your indicators and then the flasher relay with that and job done.

Thumbs Up

Alternately, use bulb indicators, because LED ones are shit for visibility. They're effectively invisible during daylight hours, and offer a highly directional light thereafter, which pretty much negates the point.
