Ok so I want to attach something which is shaped like this

This is the visible bit of subframe of my SV after it has been under tray'd and tail tidy'd.

Note the 2-3mm clearance between the under tray and the metal.

to this

Which is a top box arm, the top box arm pivots off the pillion peg bolt and will also have pannier racks attached to it.

The pannier racks are also secured to the pillion rail attachment bolts at the top with the weight hanging off this, so there shouldn't be lots of weight on this area.

My first thought was x2 jubilee clip or exhaust clamps, classy bodging. But does anybody have a better idea?

Looks somewhat blurred and rusty. I wouldnt Laughing

Have you considered using the grabrail mounting bolts on the top? that is the usual place to bolt a topbox to.
