Hi I recently bought an iridium spark plug for my scooter, I want to change it myself but don't even know what socket to use, another forum says 5/8 inch (16mm) but I don't know what I'm looking for, is there a set in halfords or screwfix etc I can go and purchase?

Any help would be appreciated Smile

EDIT

would this be suitable?

If you have the plug, go to the DIY store and select the socket that fits. Take your ratchet too so you can make sure it also fits that.

When you put the new plug in be careful not to cross thread it and also be sure to only nip it up. Best way it put hand as far done the ratchet as possible towards the socket and then just hand tighten it. Don't go swinging on it or you will definitely cause damage

As for tools, the 6 sided sockets are better than the 12 sided as the put force on all or most of the nut's side. Don't go buying lots of expensive kits as you won't use most of it. A good quality single socket that you use is much better than ten that you don't but are cheap!

I dont know if you already have a socket rachet, but the socket you linked was a half inch drive.
If you need to buy a socket set, buy a small 3/8" drive set which will be ok for general maintenance.

Thanks! Didn't notice that, so 3/8" socket is the best size to get? Smile

Edit: Think I get it a little more, is this the more obvious choice?

along with this set
