Think this is right section , not really a workshop issue?

I've been gifted an old Xena alarm. Told too big for the scooter it was bought for. I don't know the model but looking at Xena site it's probably an old model as I can't see it (looks a bit like the XX/XN 15 models but battery part different)

Anyhow, it's always going off when not in use. Heard it this morning under the seat!

I can see a bit of shiny circle in the jaw part. Wondered if this need a clean for the sensor? I'm thinking I got it because it didn't work.

Anyone had any problems like this and sorted?

Of course I know I could just use it as a standard disk lock, I'd just like to see if I can get it working properly.

Mine start doing that, pita. I just removed the batteries from it and use it as a normal disc lock.

Same here. Need the sensor/reflector (?) cleaning all the time. Vote pita too - I just took the batteries out, then kept forgetting to take it off before setting off, then it snapped. So I left it at home and took security off my insurance and saved £10.

I had the opposite. On my xena disc lock the alarm stopped working, changed the battery (which was the biggest ballache ever) and still nothing. Now it's just a bog standard disc lock.

We seem to be following a trend. I dropped mine and broke the catch that holds the alarm in place. It became a PITA to put on and off the disc so I took the alarm out and now use it as a disc lock.

Mine started doing it when the batteries needed replacing. Replacing them was a pain in the arse but got there in the end.

Mine just kept going off unprovoked Very Happy

I cleaned the sensor with a cotton bud, changed the battery and it still just kept going off. I eve. Tried different positions on the disc but to no avail.

I've now just took the battery out and use it as a normal disc lock Thumbs Up

My Xena disc lock alarm lives in the shed wrapped up in an old blanket. Went to lock up my bike late one night and the damn thing wouldn't stop going off, tucked it up in the blanket and has been left ever since. Only the slightest knock will set it off, I'm too lazy to bother sitting there getting the battery out whilst it screams at me, plus it pretty funny when the cat goes to snuggle up on the blanket Thumbs Up

As above. They do it when the battery runs low. Mine started going off under the seat because of a dirty reflector. I cleaned it and that lasted a few months. Then it started going off a minute or so after fitting to the disk. I removed the battery intending to get a replacement, but never bothered. Just use it as a normal disk lock now.

Yet I fitted new batteries. Takes 6 of the lr44 button type, which is why I think it's an older model.

Thanks for the feedback. I will have a go at cleaning the reflector spot in the jaws. If that doesn't work then will use as normal disc lock.

Thumbs Up
