Just got £400 from holiday pay that I didn't even know I was getting (I left the job nearly 6 months ago) If there is a good excuse to do my test I think now is it!!! Thats about it, had to tell someone as no-one I live with gives a shit about bikes haha...

Any tips to past first time? I have had a 125 for about 18 months now and ride 120 miles a week commuting + pleasure riding if that helps.

Cool story bro Thumbs Up

Find a training school and let them teach you the ways. You'll need them for the big bike hire for the test anyway, so may as well start as you mean to go on.

You can get the theory test done and out the way yourself though beforehand.

Everyone loves a nice unexpected windfall... get that test done!

Because you've had 18 months of riding experience you'll probably have developed the odd bad habit. A missed signal, a forgotten lifesaver check here and there perhaps. You're in a good position because you know some roadcraft and how to operate a bike, so you won't be wobbling about and fluffing gear changes like novices might.

Take advantage of that, and concentrate on improving your skills so you shine on your test.

Because of my prior experience my instructor was happy to do minimal training and cut the cost/time required for the DAS, so my advice would be to find a school that will do the same.
