Today is a sad day for me , I loved the programme Captain Scarlet when I was a kid.

When we were in the playground at school, I could never be Captain Scarlet as I had blonde hair and not black hair.
I was always Captain Blue.

What great programme Thumbs Up

I blame that programme and the Angels for a liking of women in tight fitting jump suits Embarassed

They were drawn a lot more shapely in the annuals, nice looking err aircraft (airfix did a kit) Wink

Always really - REALLY - wanted the Dinky Toys SPV, but never had one. Crying or Very sad

Christ, I used to pore over those Dinky and Corgi Toys catalogues as a kid. But yeah - loved Capt. Scarlet. The intro w/ Captain Black in a cemetery, wreathed in mist, is awesome - and the theme tune by Barry Gray rocked my face off.

The driver's compartment popped straight out to the side, and you could see that he was facing backwards, whoaaaaa, it's really the future.

I never quite got how it went Harmony, Melody, Rhapsody, Symphony and... uh... Destiny.

I guess because awesome.

Captain Brown gets Mysteroned and converted into a walking bomb in the first episode, Captain Grey turns up a couple of times.

It was the first episode that made me think, even as a kid, that "yeah, earth, you fucking well deserve everything you get."

Plus also the voice of the Mysterons is deep, sensual and - let's face it - wonderfully seductive.

In any case, it's the voice I imitate when I sweet talk the mrs. Works wonders, I swear.

Captain Indigo gets Mysteroned too and nearly squashes all the top brass in a very poorly designed secret base.

I used to have the whole collection when I was about 4 or 5. Cloud Base, SPV, Spectrum Saloon, Angel aircraft, whatever the normal Spectrum jet was called, Captain Scarlet and Captain Black costumes. I ever had this Mysteron torch that you could use to shine the double rings over things.
