 |
|
Hey everyone,
I possible have a job coming up in August in Montoir, France. I usually fly to all jobs but tomorrow I collect my 2010 Triumph Sprint ST. Soooooooooooo I thought it might be nice to ride to some European jobs, depending on if I need tools or not, enough prior notice, and not having to fly straight to another job in some place like Japan !!!!! so its just an idea at moment but would like any advice on routes in France, recommended roads and anything a first time tourer abroad would need.
Thanks in advance,
P.s. I don't have/wont be using sat nav |

You need to pass on the job to someone else, like me.
I can fix stuff, have tools and passport. ready to go.
Really, just head in the general direction, avoid the tolls.
Depends where you are going from but follow signs for quimper and then nantes when you are closer, it's all good fun. ____________________ Nobby the Bastard: How yo tell the difference between the actual japanese and her just screaming because she's had live fish stuck up her arse? it WAS bad, but I fixed it ............ other than that its a great bike to tour on.
But I`ve has some issues, inc the alternator burnt itself out on top of Col Du madeleine 2 years ago, taking the battery and reg/Rec with it. free wheeling 5 miles down hill was interesting Sitting in a hotel for 2-3 days while a local garage figures out what to do, then botches the repair does screw up travel plans. Especially as it finally had to go to a triumph dealer, but the Estimated repair cost at Triumph Dijon was €1250 Then after 6 weeks of negotiations, they returned my bike to the UK and I repaired it in 1-2hrs with parts I already had. total cost £100. The spares left over are what I carry over
Then last year the alarm failed while I was in Corsica, but since I had the harness plug and tools I was able to repair it in 1hr by unplugging the alarm & fitting the plug, and get going continuing my trip. But that WAS my 3rd Datatool S4 alarm on the bike. other than that the bike performed great
But the faults are well documented on Sprint ST`s, especially as early 1050 sprints only had a 30amp alternator, whereas later models (and upgraded early 1050 sprints) are fitted with 50amp alternators. But triumph never did a recall on the Sprints, only Daytona`s ____________________ I accept no responsibility for swearing, drinking, motorcycle riding or your pregnant teenage daughter. |
