I'm riding down to Bournemouth tomorrow, and back on Friday.

Anybody got a route you would recommend? Time isn't a massive constraint within reason, though I don't want to take a 150 mile detour for the sake of petrol, so i'd like to keep it reasonably direct-ish. Avoiding boring dual carriageways where possible.

Any suggestions?

The M3 is a slog, but my best bet is to head down the A303 get off at andover and head down through upper and neather wallop, andover -> A354 blandford road, and if you want to have a play down that neck of the woods, try to find some routs from blandford -> verwood -> ringwood, before heading through matchams ->bournemout airport/hurn

Put it this way, go onto google maps, get yourself to andover, and play dot to dot with the following locations

1) Blandford
2) Verwood
3) Ringwood
4) Christchurch

Plenty of decent roads down there since my best mates live in those neck of the woods.

I won't admit to what speeds I've done on the blandford road, but it is fast, some nice sweepers. But it's all about the back lanes into Verwood-Ringwood-Christchurch

Thumbs Up

Or you could go for a blatt through the new forest until you end up in christchurch... less out of the way, but more 40-50mph and wild horses!

If you can stomach the M25/A21 for a few miles there's a few nice roads and views there

Wait.

You'll get older.

One day you'll wake up in Bournemouth with no recollection of how you got there.
