With it being Wimbledon and Glasto this weekend, I was prepared for torrential downpours and suchlike.

On reading the odd post on here, it does seem like some people did have the traditional British summer weather and got soaked.

Not complaining, but Why is it then, that over here in the west of Wales, (two more steps any you get your feet wet), have we had a glorious weekend, sunshine, slight breezes, ice cream and bikini weather (not me I hasten to add, my bikini days are well behind me)

Seems to be our own little microclimate down here and I for one am loving it

Mike
(sorry to rub it in for those of you up to your knees in mud)

Did another run into Wales yesterday, lovely weather, dry roads. I'm lucky in Oxfordshire - just watch the forecast and it's a case of, ok, west today. Pissing down in Wales? Ok, east today. Or north. Or south. Usually somewhere I can head for without getting wet. Smile

Did a good hundred miles or so on saturday (york, squires, helmsley, whitby) and encountered rain, cloud and bright sunshine in equal measure. Confused

Microclimates in wales reminds me of that old '80s bbc play, Z for Zacariah (sp).

I don't think we've had more than two, consecutive, rain free days in Buxton, since April! Sad

Having pretty decent weather around these parts (Merseyside) so far. If anything, some days have been too hot for gearing up. I could have wrung my textiles out of sweat some days.

Spent the day riding around Wales yesterday. Very Happy

Gotta love our green and pleasant land.

Anyone heard from kestrel? (weird he hasn't posted since the start of the TT)
Lives on the Isle of Man. Ask him about micro climates.

One thing I found amusing was the North and South weather was reversed for a change.

Usually it's pissing down up here and nice down there.

Watching Glasto, it was pissing down. Up here we had some lovely weather Wink

The IOM is another thing all together. If you're riding, the weather can change every five minutes or less and that is no exaggeration.

Loving it on the south coast. We did have some rain recently - overnight it chucked it down, next morning beautiful clear skies and wall-to-wall sunshine. Shame my work involves being inside a house most of the day...still, been getting home after my early shift and being able to stay outside in my shorts till way after 6pm!! Thumbs Up

Last time I caught the rain/hail (and badly so) was at the beginning of June when I went Pompey way...

Oh for love of living south-east rather than south-west... Mr. Green
