Not once in my army career have I seen anyone use them.

i can see why military might not want them. but if I'm in and out of the house taking boots on and off all day it's a pain in the arse.

getting geared up to go out takes long enough anyway without dicking about with laces half way up your leg no?

Lace your boots like this. Quicker to tighten, and zips are like boot aids

Saw a TwAt with them once in Canada..... much piss was taken. They didn't even zip smoothly so it took him longer to get em off than if laced.

Well I don't care what you lot say I use them on my work boots and they are great
I use small cable ties to attach them to the boots rather than lacing them in as laces stretch so you have to adjust them all the time

Takes seconds to put on and off and still as waterproof as they would be with laces

I'm not saying that we're the same person, but I've never seen us in the same room together. Thinking

I did play around with some Ian-approved lacings, but in the end sodded it off and went for elastic "triathlon" laces. Love 'em, and even Mrs Borg, a staunch Luddite, has been converted.

I had to tie my laces like this when I was learning to fly (Along with Douglas Barder) . Ever since then, having laces any other way seems very wrong.

Up until this thread, I wasn't aware that there were different ways of doing up laces. It really wasn't something I'd ever thought important enough to be bothered to think about.

Is BCF becoming infected with mumsnetitis and is it being spread by Enfields. Thinking
