Has anyone ever been?

How much cash did you manage to blow?

Has anyone ever ridden from the south east of the UK?

Recommended or not??

I went this year, cost around £450 for a car via steamracket, camp site was about £90 (Glenlogh) between union mills and balagary, that's about it. (I can't remember how to spell the names properly, sorry)

We stayed for 9 days.

Didn't like taking a car as there was nowhere to park during race days and therefore stuck to walking or minibuses, if I go again, it'll be on the bike.

I'm from London and split the journey up by going to a work meeting in Birmingham, It's quite a long way but shouldn't be too bad as long as you don't have trouble in the seat after an hour.

Night life is what you make it, go to Douglas and have fun or stay at the campsite and watch the band that's on for the evening.

Ah brilliant! Well im actually not far from london, my fathers looking at getting back onto a bike and come next years even ill be on a bigger bike with a bigger license lol!

I used to go to a event called "beach hop" its in New Zealand and sounds like it could be a good laugh to go to next year!

Do you need a day pass or anything to actuall see the racing? Or is it more of a pitch your seat and crack a cold one and watch the bikes where ever you like kind of event?

The second one, only time you need a pass is to get on the grandstand at Douglas, need to get in quick on that, most race days were sold out by the Friday a week before.

All other places, churches, pubs and the like are just pitch up and enjoy, a church near union mills charged us £2 for a chair however.

£334 for 2 + bike (they don't release the price you pay until it's too late). Neutral
Cronk Aashen farm. £8 a night for camping with free showers, cooker, microwave, fridge and freezer. Coin operated washer/dryer.

Sat in Nobles grandstand for free because I'm a geezer...It was crap.

I loved riding the circuit almost as much as the racing. The people I met were varied and friendly. An English lad had trouble with his Hornet and 3 Dutch blokes went with their van picked it up and fixed it. (You pay them in beer Wink )

It's fecking awesome and that is the correct use of awesome, not this modern day jive.

What's that got to do with the price of fish? Smile

A few free shows too.

LMAO! I knew it was an obvious question to ask but I have never been, always wanted to but the distance was a bit off putting for my old man when I was younger!

And as for south east of London - basically was hinting at seems as I struggle to remember my way to the local town if anyone would be interested in me following behind on your ride up there Wink

I guessed it was mandatory in Peel but shunned elsewhere. Something to do with the odour of kippers maybe. Certainly saw more cruiser type bikes in Peel.

Quite liked Peel but didn't enter the kipper shop. Very Happy

It's called a cum cover. Supposed to hide jizz stains on the tank.

Many years ago I was on the Island for the races and we bought a stone of damaged kippers as that was the cheapest way to buy them and we could just eat kippers for a week. I was having rather a lot of success with the ladies and my mate Bob asked how I did it so I explained that as the kippers matured they were giving off juices that made me irresistible if I put a dab behind my ears. Bob overdid it a bit and stunk for the rest of the TT. Mr. Green

I've found that most Bobs overdo it one way or another.
You won't many Bobs who are like Colins. Oh no. Tut Tut
Whereas an Andy...Well you think you know what you're getting...but they always manage a surprise.

It's called a 'baglux' cover and it's used to secure a tankbag of the same name. The name not being Bob.

No no no lol!! I've had a few bikes, started my obsession with a 50cc trial bike, riding round my granddad boat yard in Swanscombe, then moved to New Zealand when I was 13 and brought a 110 mini trial bike, had a 125 un named in road worthy bike that I had intentions of restoring and selling. But I've riden bikes inbetween the years upto a gsxr650 and a triumph bonnie america.

But due to shitty UK road laws I have to ride this 125 until I can do my mod 2 and get something bigger Smile)
