I wouldn't have thought you would save much if any insurance wise going for a vfr (group 12) compared to a 600. I know when I looked at getting a new bike after having 125 I initially thought about getting a 400 but then decided I wasn't going to save much and could have a 600 for the same money insurance wise. Also I found the vfr a bit small leg wise.
Hope that helps! ____________________ Suzuki RF 600 - The two wheeled Testarossa (Deceased)

Not much, really rvf is the newer, has a 17" rear, upside down forks. Vfr has 18" rear and conventional forks.
RVF looks slightly newer. Has less power, due to carb resrictions. Jap rules, 54bhp, as opposed to about 59bhp on the VFR .
Both have the V4 engine. Both are very good in all areas; handling brakes, looks, sounds. Power is very good for a beginner. The rvf has engine mounted slightly different for better handling.
TBH, though as a new rider or even an experenced rider, it will be hard to tell the riding differences, thay are slight.
For the money, id get the vfr, becuase they are so much cheaper... If you bin it it is not so much £ down the pan.
Honda also do the CBR400, this time with an in-line 4 engine.
Sports 400s are excellent! |
