Nodding to cars...

Just wondering if im the only mofo who does this.

Sometimes when out on a ride i find my self subconsciously nodding to SOME cars.

These include cars that actually stop at junctions or doing something polite.

And people in supercars/decent cars who are shifting it...

Any thoughts, confessions?

i find my self nodding to bikers when im in the car (i very rarely drive the girlfriends car, so i think im still on the bike)
i will wave at a car to say thankyou if they move over when im filtering, or do something nice, but never just because they are in a car

Anyone who actually stops at u turns or junctions gets a flash from the light and a clutch hand wave...everyone else just pulls out without looking.

Subconsciously i've noticed all the people that stop are expats...

I've found I started wanting to wink/nod/wave at cars if they do something that impresses me, mind you that can be something as simple as stopping at a junction

Yes I do it a fair bit - and to walkers too - but then there aren't many cars here on the Yorkshire moors.
On single track roads you do sort of give a hint of thanks since they've slow and tucked themselves in - whatever you're driving.

I also nod to bikes when I am in the car........

I will usually acknowledge courteous driving with a nod, wave, or more usually thumbs up as well. If it makes them feel good they'll keep doing it no?

I nod to cars if say they're just letting me out of a tight junction and I don't want to take a hand off the bar to say thanks.

Sometimes I do feel myself subconciously doing it to cars I've had a blat with though.

I nod if i am letting them out at a junction or if they have been curtious to me. Other signals are used to the less capable driver.

Cars get signals depending on how nice they are to me - if they let me out and are generally curteous they get a nod, if not they get get hand signals

Yeah, i'll admit to doing this too... i sometimes forget im in the car and nod at bikers, funnnily enough they dont nod back

I also nod a thanks to car drivers that don't pull out a junction, i mean how the hell does that work? Thanks for not killing me?!

yeah i nod to anyone courteous basically, or give a wave.

so anyone letting you go past parked cars as they wait at the other end, those who move when you are filtering, when they move out the way on dual carriageways, those who let you out, etc.... and yes those who actually stop at side junctions, instead of pulling out on you.

I nodded the other day to an Aston Martin V8 Vantage, cause it looked stunning. I usually put my hand up a bit to show my appreciation when a car sees me going very fast from a distance, and waits for me to go past before pulling out of the junction.
