 |
|
So, decided to do a quick oil change this weekend before I go for a long weekend around the Peak District, oil was only changed 2500 miles ago but cheap and often is how I prefer it.
Used the last of the sump washers I had last time I popped into my local bike shop, need some more.
I recall the size for the SV being 12m washers? Does it matter copper or aluminium and can anyone link me to some and confirm? Preferably a pack of 10 or thereabouts!

A cheap trick in the old days was to turn the washer.
Anyway I've used copper and alu not much difference just dont overtighten it. ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. You can reanneal copper to bring back some crush ability.
There is a description how to do it here (it saves me typing a Tef like post).
I didn't think you could do it with aluminium, that site says different. Perhaps the washing up liquid is the trick. ____________________ ...and the whirlwind is in the thorn trees, it's hard for thee to kick against the pricks...

People who still use crush washers of any description obviously don't know about Dowty or Bonded seal washers.
Only need "nipping up" rathert than tightening down and reuseable many, many times. Keeps my enfield clean and oiltight with a bare minimum of stripped threads. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen.
