Can anyone explain why someone would do this or what it is meant to be doing?!
Engine is from a Suzuki TS50. ( Piston ported, no reed valve)
The black stuff is fibreglass.
The 'blade' in the black stuff is removed with pliers ( along with the black stuff). There is no damage to the cases underneath it.
Engine would not rev past 7k, was low on compression
