The copyright text at the bottom isnt level.
The CSS of CSS3_simplistic_2 is higher.

The "UK" of "UK Hydraulic Tools" doesnt change colour when the link has been visited, but the "Hydraulic Tools" does.

"Home" is blue, and stays blue because the location has been visited.
Other headings do not stay blue when visited, but they do change to blue when hovered on.

On the online shop page, clicking the 'hydra-pumpvac kit and carry case' picture takes you to this page.

Cheers. Thumbs Up

The copyright text is level to me in multiple browsers. Confused

The "UK" of "UK Hydraulic Tools" should stay white and the "Hydraulic Tools" should turn blue on mouseover.
I have just added a "visited" section to the CSS file. May have worked at keeping all links blue.

They are not visited links. The colour is just similar.

Looking at the page, the 'home' button is blue when you are on it, but if you are on the 'about' page the word 'about' goes white and 'home' stays blue.

I suspect this is a case of classes and pseudo classes getting all undergaflumbled. Haven't looked at the css because I'm on my tablet, but if you create a 'menu' class, which includes all those menu items, then target them with
Code:
.menu a a:visited a:active a:hover { colour: white; }
it should sort it.

I am not good enough at CSS to fully understand that. Laughing

I am having a look through to see what I changed, it did work before.

My laptop screen resolution is 1366x768, the same as just under a third of all browser users. Other than the online shop (which is a completely different design and makes you wonder whether you're still on the same company's website), each page is exactly the bloody same except for 2-3 sparse lines on the bottom right, which you have to scroll down to read all of it.

You could easily show the picture much smaller (say, a quarter of the size with a "click here for larger image"), move the "Latest News" to the right of it and have the actual purpose of the page the main focus.

Don't build a site just based on what screen and browser you have in front of you.

Thanks Shaggy, saved me a bit of typing. I actually thought the site was broken since nothing changed as I hit the urls. And quite agree the online shop style is out of synch. Suggest a common style sheet (or whatever they're called, I'm rusty on web design).

Footer copyright text looks miniature (un-readable) on my screen.

Change the font: line from this

Code:
footer {
width: 950px;
font: 50% 'Yanone Kaffeesatz', arial, sans-serif;
height: 20px;
padding: 5px 0 20px 0;
text-align: center;
border-bottom: 1px solid #FFF;
}

To this

Code:
font: 20px 'Yanone Kaffeesatz', arial, sans-serif;

Or whatever px size you want but don't put %'s on font sizes Thumbs Up [/quote]

The purple header colour isn't working. Try blue (match the top) or some other colour for contrast.

The white text on black background isn't good either, I think you need a more subtle background behind the text.

Apart from that it's not too bad.

em is better than px for fonts as it still allows for user controlled resizing in older IE browsers, but still works fine in newer browsers Thumbs Up

I find it hard to read the white text on the stripped background and the header doesnt really stick out much. Maybe try adding a different colour background to the centre of the page or maybe a partly transparent one.

Home is staying white as in your unordered list you've kept class="selected" in home on each page. That needs to be moved to whichever page it is. Does that make sense?

As has been said, try and put a different picture on each page as the users will be searching around to try and find what's changed on the page. I also think the picture is a bit big, but that's just person.
