Hi all. Looking for some advice again please. Seems like this is the only forum to get decent and sensible replies.

Recently had some clutch issues on a AM6 50cc two stroke engine which I plan to tackle this weekend. Seeing as I have to remove a few bits to get to the problem I thought about doing a bottom end rebuild at the same time.

Any advice appreciated? What should I be replacing or looking out for?

Crankshaft?
Seals?
Bearings?

I have a nice assortment of tools but are there any specific tools I will need? Pullers etc? Or will brute force and persuasion pretty much do the job?

Thanks in advance.

You'll need a press to dismantle the crank and replace the big end and main bearings I'd have thought.

You'll also need crank seals, none of those will be easy to come by at short notice. I'd suggest dismantling the engine and taking the crank somewhere to be rebuilt. Most small backstreet bike shops have a good enough press to do a single cylinder 50cc crank, but whether or not they have the expertise is a different matter.

Good luck!

Sounds like I will need some luck! Not just a case of remove old parts and replace with new then?

Perhaps I should concentrate in the clutch problem for now?

Don't want to bite off more than I can chew!

Thanks again
