Morning all.

I know this may seem like a bit of a daft question, but I noticed yesterday on my way home from work that I need to top up the oil in my monster. It was too late to go anywhere and get some so thought I'd look in the manual. It says 10W/40, I have some of this laying about in the garage, but it's the rating bit I dont get. It says equivalent or higher than SE, SF, SG.
Please help.
Thank you.

SF superseded SE, SG superseded SE and SF.

Any modern 10/40W oil will be fine unless it's something like Magnatec with friction modifiers which can cause clutch slip.

I am always told not to mix semi with fully synthetic. Best to check which one your bike has in it before you do...

You can mix mineral, semi- and fully-synthetic as much as you like.

If you have a 10W-40 oil available it will almost certainly be fine - 10W-40 oils are not used in energy-saving applications so will not be full of friction modifiers or anything.
