Wait wait wait... so the DVLA already make a ton of mistakes, as they pay peanuts and get monkeys.

Yet the DVLA have found savings to make test fees?

It is me or is this a bad omen? Considering I've had to send my V5 back numerous times for wrong spelling and eventually settled on one letter wrong.

I did however get my you no longer own this vehicle letter though, for vehicles I sold a long time ago they had a whole sheet of A4 now its just a single sided compliment slip and it takes forever to get here (mine it got here today and it is dated 8/7/14).

Now that is worrying! Confused If a Government department give you a discount or money back it usually means they are going to get it back another way! Sad Makes me wonder just what they want in return and what kind of service we will get in the future as the present one is a shambles! Rolling Eyes

I think it's more likely that they're dropping prices before somebody finds out just how much they've been making out of the renewal fees for when your license expires. I only got my most recent photocard in October, but it still kept the original expiry date of 2017.

The cost of a new driver doing there driving test is normally more than the bike test id say.

Well they certainly got their money out of me for a licence. After failing the MOD1 three times but passing everything else first time it cost me £1100 including the school fees! now THAT is expensive for a licence! Shocked If i had done it back in the 70's when all my mates did it would have been £15. Rolling Eyes

Yup, new bike tests mean you can't ride around on a cbt for a while and then wing it on your test. So bike hire has to be added to the costs now...
