Hi all, I just got a GPZ 500 (first big bike) and it seems to loose power at the top end, at about 8-9000rpm, it's fine up to that point but then it just looses the will to go faster, even in 2nd or 3rd gear. What are the most likely faults?
cheers

Losing power as in? Is it struggling to rev? Need a bit more information.

sorry, it just refuses to rev beyond about 9000, sort of similar to hitting the limiter but without the bouncing.

Have a look in the inlet rubbers on the carbs for some restrictor washers.

Last time I had an issue like this it was on an FZR400 and it was a blocked jet in the carb, it could be a restriction washer like said but to be honest your going to have to take some bits apart to check either solution.
