Just wondering how easy it would be to convert a lawnmower to an electric start instead of a pull chord?

Its a ratio of stupidity of the task versus complexity.

It's not hugely complex in the scheme of engineering tasks, but versus what you're likely to achieve by doing it? Nah. No chance.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

An electric drillc with a socket adaptor will often do it nicely.

Its actually for the wife's benefit. We have quite a large garden and she walks up it and back down, then it is time to empty the collector box which means that the mower needs to be stopped and she cannot start it again.

As I said before, it depends on the engine you have fitted.

Some are easier (b&s) than others (tecumseh) to convert and to find parts to do it.

*edit

Of course, you could always just tie a bit of string around the deadman handle so it stays running, not that I would suggest or condone such irresponsible behaviour.

Ride on mower far less hassle for her and she can use her mobile while she mows
