Why not go for the SV1000, rather than the 650?

Watch out for the hard seats on the SVs though, yer missus won't like it.

How tall is yer missus? It takes a reasonable height of woman to get on the back of the SV.

Why not go test ride some, and see if yer missus can get on the back of them and feel comfy?

I think we can rule out the SV's then...

I think number 5 on the list rather depends on how you look after it, to be honest. Confused

And mine.

It's a hooligan when that's what's necessary, a great commuter, and judging by the amount of luggage mine can hold, it makes a great tourer as well.

Thumbs Up

I mean everything.

I seem to recall a few occasions when you knew there was something wrong with the R6 but you continued to ride it, possibly aggravating the problem. And you're not gentle to your bikes, so they need looking after.

Whatever you get, you need to make sure you can actually afford to maintain it properly - it's ok to treat it rough if it's going to get some loving afterwards. Treat it mean and don't maintain it, it's going to give you problems, whichever you choose.

Since you've got a sportsbike for the track, I'd be very tempted to go for the Bandit, but ask around a bit first as a few people on here have them and could probably advise.

Presumably it would be worth looking at the insurance groups of the various bikes you're contemplating.

TL1000S

From the details you've listed, I suspect a BMW would be your best choice.

However, I suspect something a bit more sporty may suit your riding style Smile.

Fo you intend to take this bike for 'blasts'? Or do stunts on it etc?

I doubt he could afford fuel for that thing G, he sometimes had trouble filing up the R6.

dont take this the wrong way luke but maybe you should look at changing your "self" as well as your bike?? ive known u a few years now and it seems to me that you do have a nasty habit of running your bikes into the ground?

my vote was thundercat...as anyof the others and you would probably start top miss the sports bike feel etc

Thumbs Up

Hi

I have voted Thundercat, as a good sporting road bike, reasonable at everything.

As to a Bandit they are bullet proof as they are in a very low state of tune (it is a GSXR1100 engine with about 30~40hp missing), but the build quality is a bit dodgy. They do make a good all round bike but I don't know what the insurance would be like for you. Get an unfaired one and they will help preserve your licence as cruising at high speed is not comfy. On the other hand the wheelie potential might be a bit too much .

All the best

Keith
