Couple of dodgy things on my bike so I haven't been using it despite the nice weather. Crying or Very sad

Need to chase Mr. Honda for my bits.

Anyway how long can I safely leave it without taking it for a run? I don't want to kill my battery. I don't have a charger either (actually I think my folks have a car one that's so old it might be made from bakelite, I presume it's a trickle charger. Bloody slow anyway.).

I suppose starting it and nipping 5 or 10 mins up the road will just drain it more than charge it?

I don't remember where I read it.

But a good battery will lose less than 0.25% of its charge daily from non use.

If you disconnect it, it'll take ages to go flat if it is in good order.

Buy an optimate or similar, it's cheaper than most batteries and will keep your battery charged.

I had a CB500 that I stopped riding for about four weeks when I got my current bike.

The less than 3 month old battery didn't have enough juice to start it when I got around to selling it but it bump started fine and charged back up after about 20 minutes riding.

Hi

Depends on the battery. Decent quality one will last ages, and even longer with occasional charging. Cheapo Sprint batteries seem to die very rapidly when not used.

All the best
