house insurance?

Any one know if it covers en block garages?

Went to garage today and found everything inside soaked was very damp as well

Had a slight leak for a while but its got really bad now and don'twant the internal wooden structure to rot


So will it be covered and would iI be able to claim?

Have a read of your paperwork or phone the insurance company and ask them.

I wouldn't mention the part about you knowing there's been a leak for a while.

From experience insurance doesn't cover roof damage.
Unless proved to be caused by storm. Otherwise they mark it up to poor maintenance on your part.

Contents may be insured if garage is actually at same address as house. Otherwise I'm thinking that'd be a no, as separate property, separate insurance.

Best of luck trying though, if you don't ask you don't get.

Best make sure enquiry doesn't get marked down as a claim. I enquired about the excess once and when I renewed they said I'd had a claim (this being Direct Line) Shocked Rolling Eyes Yes, they got shouted at.
