Hello,

My Peugeot speedfight 2 scooter takes a long time to kick start. After a dozen of kicks I could hear engine bulging and trying to start but fails. Finally after kick starting it for few mins engine starts at very low rpms, pulling throttle a bit makes the engine run faster and when i release throttle it stabilizes to mid rpms and works fine. When the engine is warm (or hot) it starts only from one kick not 50 kicks when its cold (ex. in the morning) or using electric start.

I dont know much about the engine and the previous owner also seemed like he never looked inside the scooter.

Speedometer stopped at 11k so probably its more than that.

Any advice how to fix it? I have no idea where to start, since its my first scooter Smile

cheers!

once more.......

scooter kickstarts are for emergency use when the electric start fails, not for everyday use, they will wear out, 50 kicks per day will royally fuck it up

I suspect it has now worn somewhere and is dragging

the parts were about £80 when I was spannering them, a chinese copy starter motor and battery was under £50

if you replace the kickstart gears, and keep using the kickstart it will wear out again
