So looks like someone may be eyeing up my bike.

Noticed taking the bike out this morning that the top of one of my fence panels was caught on the post like someone had lifted it up so checked the CCTV Evil or Very Mad

Can see a guy at just after 230am walk into my avenue, go into the neighbors across the road, front garden to their back side gate and look over then walk straight across to my next door neighbors (has no side gate) into their back garden then start looking over my fence to where my bike is. Then he looks over the smaller front fence at my side gate that has a yale lock on (dead locked with a key) then he lifts the panel and disappears for a min into my garden then out again and off out of my avenue.

He didn't fully open the bike tent as I would of seen this but may have peeked under and seen the chains. He may have just tried the yale and realised it was dead locked so thought fuck it as all the other side gate in our ave are open or just a bolted but I put in the new fence, gates and lock before I got the bike Smile Guy is white and was dressed in a dark polo shirt (t-shirt with collar) and what look like dark cargo pants.

Worrying thing is he only went to 3 houses which own motorcycles. The other 2 houses have off road style bikes thats they keep in their mums houses (young lads) as ones had it nicked before.

He doesn't notice the CCTV but the image is shit at night but I know I don't know him or seen him on the avenue. Question is do I stay up toning and wait Twisted Evil

quick cheap fix is attach rape alarm to fence panels and gate, so if he does it again they set off

Alarms only work when you're there to here them.

Someone nearby has an alarm that sound like my bike alarm, keeps going off, chances are if someone sets mine off, I'll swear, roll over and go back to sleep.

Can you put some screws into the fence posts / panels to stop them being lifted?

Might be worth giving your neighbours a heads up that someone's snooping about

Told him he should of come out or done something

It really is sad times atm!

We've had some attempted break in's around here lately, and a lot of chavvy scum coming up and down the road, and dare I say it more flat bed diesel transits too.

I'm now sleeping with the window open and a big knife and a lump hammer under the bed, and my clothes and shoes by the bed too!

It need's direct action, and something pretty nasty/scary to happen to these pieces of pond life, before they will think about stopping chancing their luck.

A bit of CCTV footage, or a pic of a kid in a hoody, and no signs of finger prints is not enough for a police prosecution. If they are not caught red handed with the stolen bike/gear, they will always walk.

Entrapment and violence/threats of violence seems to be the only way to go unless someone knows of a better idea?

Don't post your plans for premeditated violence online. It won't help you when you try to claim self defence and weapon of opportunity.

I'd attach a fake CCTV camera somewhere close to where the bike is kept, then put a note somewhere on the bike where any potential thief will see it to tell them they're on camera.

To be honest, if they didn't spot the actual CCTV camera then they're either idiots or just opportunists.

Leave the cover off the bike tonight. When he takes a look over the fence and sees it's a GPZ, he'll leave it alone.

haha could be why it wasn't touched, just found out the young lad across the road got his bike back a day ago, it was nick and he bought it back from whoever nicked it (very strange, I know) and the guy went to his house first. I reckon he saw the GPZ and though fuck that piece of shit Laughing is one reason why I bought it Laughing

Not had much sleep, up every few hours but no movements on the CCTV, neighbors left their lights on all night and you have to pass their windows to get to mine.

I'm taking it you have them 6 foot fences where you can slide the panels out from the post.

Like this:
https://www.aafencing.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/waney-and-concrete-fencing.jpg

He went to the only houses with bikes means someone's informed him (a spotter) or his seen the houses with bikes and his came sniffing around to see what tools he needs when he comes back.

He'll most likely come back with a friend or two, especially if you have a heavy bike.

They're planning something. They'll either come back tonight or soon after.

I second the proposal to strap rape alarms to the fence panels, so when they're lifted said thief flees

This...and can you do stills from your CCTV...might be worth putting pictures of him around your neighbourhood. Posters stating this man has been caught on camera sniffing around our neighbourhood whilst everyone is sleeping.

If he sees a poster of himself, he might think twice... Idea

Or any local Facebook groups to post it on?
Although that may give celebrity status to the perp/unsub.

I would have thought a reworking of that speech from Taken more applicable.
However, schoolboy error, assuming perp has the ability/inclination to read a sign.
