https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000616/?ref_=tt_cl_t12

But holy fuck. Over 50 credits in 2014 alone!

Madness.

I think it has something to do with being a known actor and going for any shitty project he can get a paycheck out of. Also, doing a lot of cameos (which take 1-2 days to shoot) adds a lot of credits to a resume. And a lot of low budget films get stuck in pre-production/production/post-production for years. So, if you get your named attached to one of those projects on IMDB in 2012 and the film runs into trouble and can't be finished, when 2013 comes around your name will still be there, 2014 same thing, and so on. Some of his films that are in post-production can be 2-3 years old and still unfinished.

So put all this together and you get something like that.

Why you see this rarely is because most known actors only go for big parts in big projects.

He has worked a huge amount for years. He is well known and a decent actor IMO. Maybe he just really likes acting or something.

From the man himself:

Quote:
I had a perfect track record up to Rude Awakening (1989). Then the track record goes bumpy, then it goes bad and I'm ruining myself with B movies. I've done a lot of shit. But I have reinstated myself.
This past 15 years, I made 120 movies, and I probably haven't seen 60 of them. But I've had a great time.

Well no-one asked me if I knew him, which I don't. So the title needs to be re-worded 'everyone but Clanger, knows this actor...' Razz

I know his face, but not his name nor even any of his work. Although, I know I've seen him many times in various films.

he mentioned Rude Awakening. If anyone gets a chance to watch it I would recommend it. Its a bit like Cheech and Chong but even funnier.

It's Julia Roberts brother Rolling Eyes (of pretty woman fame.... or looks like Pacman if you see her side on)

Anyway, I think he might be going for Morgan Freeman or Liam Neeson's records.... as one or the other seems to be all films at the moment

Know his face but never knew his name.

Funny, isn't it? The guy has done 120 films in the past 15 years and says he hasn't seen 60 of them, which fair enough, some actors don't seem to like watching their movies back.

Who would you say has been in the most hits?

Leonardo Di Caprio off the top of my head, I can't recall a shit film that he's done?

Titanic. It wasn't shit but I wasn't a fan, so for me its his worst film.

That says a lot about him as an actor that his worst film imo happened to be so successful.

He's a brilliant actor though and very selective about what films he does, so doesn't do all that many compared to other guys.

He really must have pissed The Academy off somehow though because he is probably the greatest actor to have not won an Oscar.

Gangs of New York, The Departed, Blood Diamond, Inception, Wolf of Wall Street, J Edgar, The Aviator... any one of those would have been worthy of a Best Actor win, and there are plenty of worse winners than any of those.

Back on topic though... Yeah I recognise him, seen him in lots of stuff but can't recall anything particular, obviously hasn't stood out much. 50 films is a lot but if theres quite a few cameos then not that much.

Everyone was certain he was going to get one for Wolf of Wall Street, he should have done.

The Beach too, another great film.

But no he didn't die, you're right he was in the internet cafe looking at the picture

Yeah he was brilliant. I was surprised how good Jonah Hill was as well, never really took him seriously as an actor before.

...

Helps pay the mortgage. Never know what might be the next cult classic.
After all Alec Guiness always slagged off Star Wars even though the royalty deal got him £56 million (according to Mirror newspaper) and is still getting paid to his family.

Thinking Although I wonder how many of those films for 2014 will be in the straight to video category?
