Basically, where do fatties get their kit from? I cant be the only fatty here, yet every shop I go to I struggle to find something that fits. Are there any brands that come up larger than others? For instance my last jacket was an RST and an XL fitted me fine... I bought a new RST jacket and to get it to fit I had to buy a 4XL Shocked Trousers are an even worse story, it seems NOWHERE stocks above a 40" waist, I can just about squeeze into that but Id prefer a 42 if possible or even a 44 for a bit more comfort... as for leathers, just impossible, Ive been to countless shops and nowhere has any leathers that fit, theyre all built for skinny beanpoles on their superbikes Sad The only places that seem to accomodate fatties are places like Harley dealers where you can pay a billion pounds for a XXXXXXXL midlife crisis/hells angels/Village People Blue Oyster leather vest and ass-less chaps because apparently fatties only ride choppers. Rolling Eyes

Yes yes I know, lose weight blah blah blah Im getting there slowly, but Im not gonna lie - a cheeseburger and night in playing xbox is a lot more fun than a carrot and a 5 mile jog Laughing and in the mean time Id like to get some better protection than my cheap eBay job kevlar jeans.

If you want to eat burgers and shit and lose weight consider going on keto - it's high fat, low carb. It's really good, I know people who've lost a shitload of weight on it. I'm talking 20+ stone. I've had success with it too. The point of it is is that you can eat the meat but not the bread etc. Likewise, steak and chips is a no go unless you change the chips.

Sorry, I know this has fuck all to do with bikes but still Laughing

I got my (38") BKS leathers from J&S and they had up to 42/4" ones on the peg too.

For textiles, depends on your budget but rukka go up to some decent sizes.

J&S do a fair range for us who are actually MAN sized and not just boys who want to be men.

Alpinestar do jackets up to an 9XL (jacamo size 4xl)

Ebay do some good sizes, got a jacket 13xl(Jacamo 5xl) Same with pants and leggings.

These have a good range too

Sounds a lot like the Atkins diet. My dad loved doing that, bacon and eggs for breakfast every day. Didn't it end up with a really bad press from people taking it too far though?

It did but it's like anything, if you take the piss then it can go wrong. Keto hasn't had bad press (that I've seen) and I know it does work. There are differences in them though, atkins is higher carbohydrate compared to keto. It's also got more protein in it as a diet.

It's also good for epileptics (originally that was why it was designed) and personally I find it gives me more energy as I've got dyspraxia and I get lethargic as fuck by about midday usually. On keto I can generally go to 5-6PM before I collapse and sleep Laughing

Skinny people don't need to diet. I'm currently trying to wrestle myself back into being merely overweight, rather than clinically obese.

But yes, the thread has become sidetracked.

On that note Hideout publicise that they provide the police.
A quick look and leathers seem to be in the larger sizes.

Also Niton999 allegedly sell motorcycle stuff (haven't bought, can't confirm). The prices for the leather trousers seems cheap at £75 and free postage Confused

Good find, I see trousers in 44" a bit pricey but good obviously.

Well it's just as bad at the other end of the scale! I am a skinny and I mean skinny bu**er. 28" waist and 34" chest! Trying to get a pair of trousers is a nightmare for me as most of them start at 30" waist. the pair of leathers I am wearing are ladies. Embarassed I know what you will say, eat more, but I do eat like a horse, in fact my mate who is 'normal' swears I have hollow legs. Crying or Very sad

Yup I've kitted myself out with JTS Biker clothing gear too. I'm new to riding so had nothing, am trying to lose some weight so didnt want to spank £££££ on kit that will hopefully be too big in a years time. I got a jacket (about 6xl) for £99, trousers that are 48" waist for £110 but when zipped up the connecting zip bit broke. My issue is that I wear my trousers under my belly so went back and bought some trousers with braces for £120 I think.

Quality is reasonable, it's not amazing but good value for the money. Once I'm slimmer I'll splash out on some nice 2 piece leathers.

Sounds like JTS are worth a look then Mr. Green

Sadly theres bugger all in the way of decent biking shops around Taunton, theres a few small shops but they rarely sell anything apart from helmets and gloves, maybe boots if youre lucky.

Im not really keen on ordering stuff online, not unless Ive already tried it on and just shopping for a better price, because I cant be bothered with the hassle of returning it if it doesnt fit.

Cheers for all the replies though, Im glad Im not the only fatty suffering! Laughing

Yeah that was the other thing, trying things on was a must for me. Luckily I was only 90 min away from them so went there to try it all on. The shop has a large warehouse above it so I could try loads on one after the other, in the end I'd gone through about 5 pairs of trousers. Laughing The women who work there are lovely too though, couldnt be more helpful!
