I'm in the market for a new toy and currently I'm looking at a tiger kit car with a zx9r lump which I'm told is very quick. Anybody on here with experience of kit cars who can point me in the right direction?
Thank you
I should probably add that the car is for occasional hoons and track days.

Tiger have been around for a while, there are a rash of companies making Lotus / Catarham 7 copies including Robin Hood, Westfield etc

Might be worth grabbing a copy of kit car magazine for a flick through

Go for a Caterham or Westfield or a Dax Rush...

Stay away from Robin hood / Locust

There's a good selection at pistonheads

I have a Caterham and have been in a Tiger. The tiger is too open, it doesn't feel like you're safely strapped in at any point. It's slow too... 175bhp in a Tiger could not keep up with my 125bhp around Cadwell Park.

There's a reason Caterhams hold their resale value and the tigers, locusts etc. don't... That's because people get bored of them very quickly.

I had one of these back in the early 90's (pre children) Crying or Very sad
It's a pre-litigation Westfield 7, the bloody thing stuck to the road like sh*te to a blanket. Was often commented that it never went straight over at roundabouts but straight through.
I always preferred the swept wings to the cycle wings too.

I'd definitely try a car engine'd kit back to back with a bike engined one, as a lot of people say that bike engines are not that nice to drive on the road for any distance, and can be tiring and annoying oo.

If weight was not an issue or much of a difference, I'd rarther have a 2litre engine making 150bhp instead of a 1000cc engine making that level of power.
