Woo Hoo after last weeks misery of failing mod 1 on a poxy U-turn I passed this morning with 2 minors, I know one of them was for doing 49 on the avoidance exercise the other was marked against the emergency stop but says I was doing 54 kph so not sure what it was for (don't really care anymore just pleased Mod 1 is out of the way) Very Happy.

Also congratulations to Lerm for passing her Mod 1 yesterday Very Happy bring on Mod 2 and lets get this over with Very Happy

well done,

For the mod 2
keep an eye out for bus stops and road endings when you're asked to "find somewhere safe to pull in and stop"

Keep an eye for stop lines, foot down and proper stop and look both ways as though you're in a road safety video even if it's clear!

Well done on the pass, similar to me, just two minors. Didn't have to re-do the e-stop and avoidance, far as I remember I did the e-stop at 65kph (gotta love those confidence inspiring dual-linked ABS brakes on the Hornet) and the avoidance at about 55kph. One of the minors was for getting too close to the outer fence doing a u-turn setting up for something else, I saw the examiner shaking his head and he was a tough one, describing it as a "borderline fail". I think if I hadn't failed last time (same guy, much worse result) it might have been a fail, who knows, examiner's discretion.

Ahh nice congrats on passing your mod 1 and good luck in your mod 2.

I'm bricking it, my Mod 1 is tomorrow.. I wasn't nervous during training and I thought "This is all fairly easy lol I won't get nervous" but now that it's tomorrow the nerves have really suddenly kicked in.

Praying

So an update.

Failed because I put my foot down on the figure of 8... Of all parts man.

The bit I least expected to have trouble with was the fucking figure of 8. I was worried about the U turn but aced it, worried about the E-Stop but aced it... Aced everything but my fucking stupid foot had to go down on the Figure of 8.. Even the swerve got it first try.. No minors just that fucking shitty figure of 8.

Totally gutted. Thumbs Down

Don't beat yourself up Meef a week ago I was in exactly the same position and failed mine as I put my foot down on the U-turn, never ever done that before but did when it mattered Twisted Evil .

A week later I was in for re-test and passed in the pouring rain, you know you can do it so next time you will fly through I'm sure Smile

Normally when a foot goes down your either turning to slow or trying to make the turn to tight, remember on the figure of 8 you can use as much space as you like so go wide, very wide Smile.

The funny thing is, I think this was purely down to the nerves because I told myself "I'm going too wide" even though I wasn't, and ended up tightening it for no reason which then screwed my handling up pointlessly. I also heard you can go round the yellow cone also when doing the figure of 8 is this true?

Instant regret for trying too hard, next time I'm going to go so wide and relaxed.. My instructor said I looked way too tense on the bike too during the figure of 8.

I relaxed after I'd realized I failed.. Weird.

I know next time I won't have the nerves cause actually it was all pretty easy. Just that goddamn figure of 8.

As far as I am aware going round the last yellow cone is at the discretion of the examiner so when he explains the exercise you then ask if you are allowed or not, he wont bite your head off just say yes or no.
