Hi

McJam and I went along to Donington today to have a peek at the first practice sessions.

With the sun I now have a forehead that is hotter than the average BBQ.

Here are a few pics.

I went down to Donington today (got a lovely tan). Was sat in the grandstand (Block C) so got a good view of Goddards and the Esses.
Saw McWilliams run onto the grass for about the first three laps of practice, a few others coming off loosing the front. John Hopkins came off at the Esses as well. Didn't see Melandri come off at Melbourne though, and after all that Haydon is on pole at the moment. Highlight of the day would have to be sitting on the CBR1000RR at the Honda stand.
The bad bit would be filtering through about 30 miles of queues on the way back up the M1 Sad

Where abouts were you watching from Keith?

Hi

We were probably in the same grandstands. We were at the very top at the far end (ie, nearest the tunnel under the circuit).

Got cold feet (as usual) so maybe I should try some Yoga position to transfer the heat from my head to my feet!

All the best

I like the new exhausts on barros's bike, they look sleek. Cool

p.s how on earth did you manage to get good photos of them? i took loads at formula 1 at silverstone and hardly any turned out decent.

Hi

That was using a 75~300 lense, right at the 300mm end of its range (and the camera is a digital SLR with a 1.5 multiplier on the lense, so effectively a 105~450 lense). On that shot the spokes are quite visable so I probably had the shutter speed quite high (500th+ of a second).

Could really do with a better quality and longer lense at those kinds of distances.

There are only a very few places on the circuit where you have any chance of seeing over the fences.

All the best

Keith
