Hello all, long time since my last post. It's good to be back Very Happy

Basically I'm not sure what to do. I've got a 2002 gz125 marauder, love riding it, cheap to run and mechanically she is 100% reliable.

But here lies the issue, cosmetically, she is starting to look like a proper old banger, chrome is starting to go in areas, and parts of the paint work have seen better days, plenty of surface rust that won't budge etc.

I don't won't to throw the towel in with this bike yet as I've had it for a good few years and I'm attached to it. I was wondering how I would go about matt blacking it or something along those lines. I have no idea how to go about doing this, and whether it would ever be worth doing. E.g is the finish just going to disappear after 6 months? If anyone has any experience tarting up little 125 cruisers that are starting to show their age and don't respond to polish and elbow grease like they used to it would be very appreciated. Cheers.

nowt wrong with matt black mate Thumbs Up my first bike was redone in matt black, and it looked fine. as long as you like it, then it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks Cool

just remember, prep is everything, and any imperfections will show easily. you could always look at plastidip, that way it wouldn't be permanent Thumbs Up

Yeah, that's what I'm worried about, I've seen some really well done jobs that look great but I've seen some real fuck up attempts at that sort of thing going for 50p on gumtree.
