Hi There.

I am in the market for a Akropovic megaphone Slip-on for my 2013 Suzuki GSR 750.

I have been told by some mates that if i take the stock off and replace with the slip on Akro, or any slip on for that matter, that i will have to install a power commander.
From what i understand, you only need a power commander if you install a new full exhaust system.

Please help clarify this for me.

You won't need one even with a full exhaust however it would make it better if set up properly, not just extra powah but smooth throughout the range.

Some bikes you don't actually need a power commander at all my Triumph for example can be remapped by a £5 cable and a free bit of software.

I'd go as far as to say you do NEED one if you have a full system. Try riding one without.

Don't bother with just a can, it's pointless other than to say "yer mate ive got a power commander".

Download the software, and compare the maps that they provide for your bike for the stock and aftermarket cans. Chances are they're near enough identical, if not identical.
