I went to Lincoln Hein Gericke today looking for a back protector.
I also took a pair of gloves back 'cus the lining had split. Went to the desk showed the lovely woman the gloves and she went and got a new pair off of display and swapped them over no fuss.
This is great service and would recommend these shops to anyone who needs any type of kit.
After sorting the gloves the same woman helped me with back protectors and was very informative and helpful. I decided to go for the top of the range knox number.
I then asked if they do R&G mushrooms and she went and got a book out and looked up my bike. She remembered what bike I had from when I’d spoken to her last time!
The only bad thing was her telling me that the micron stainless can they had in looks and sounds great on the hornet. V.tempted!
Just thought I would share my morning with everyone.

I second your trusting of Hein Gericke - I have never had a problem with anything I've bought from there, they're never 'pushy'. Good to hear that If I ever do have a problem they'll be nice (well, hopefully just a nice in Farnborough as yours in Lincoln!)

A major chain that can be trusted, surely not! Wink

Yup, very helpful, and they beleive in service as well.

Went looking for waterproofs at the one near my work.

Walked into store and greeted with a hello, and then left us alone to browse. Once they saw we were looking at waterproofs, then they came over and offered assistance.

This is good customer care in my book, no pushin, no selling, letting you find what you want, and then helping to sell it to you.

Will definately go back, as they do good stuff at decent prices, and they have friendly staff. They even came out and talked bikes with us as we were having a fag before riding off.

I third your opinion.

I've always had great service from gerricks and the majority of the kit I wear is from them too.

my branch is in Kenton (North London) by the way.

I have hein gericke 2 piece leathers... They are brilliant! Having never been into a Hein Gericke shop, I have to say I can't really comment on their one to one service. After those testimonials I might go out of my way to pop in the next time I need an item of kit now! Smile

Not needing anything at the moment, but I'll be needing winter gloves soon. Mine are pretty knacked after two winters. Wink I'll give the Edinburgh branch a go. Thanks for the recommendation. Thumbs Up Wink

Yup, I agree as well, Hein Gericke are pretty good. I have 2-piece leathers from them and while there was a bit of a problem getting the trousers delivered (they were out of stock) when they came and I went to the shop in Edinburgh to get some help fitting them they were excellent, knowledgeable and happy to take as much time as I wanted to make sure I got the right thing Smile

Here's a big up for the guys in Kenton... Absolutely fine service and a great place to cotch and chat after college... it's literally around the corner. Most of the time, i don't buy stuff but they let me try on all different things. Always give great advice and unlike some shops, these fellas actually ride bikes, having ridden with a few of them before on their RS's and TZR's and CBR's.

The stuff they sell there is actually well priced although i was advised by one of their shop assistants not to buy L plates there cos it was too dear Razz Razz Kinda cool eh? BTW, the Hein Gericke Leathers are pretty class too as i recently purchased the PSX-R jacket which is very snug and comfortable. So lets all support our favourite motorcycle accessories and clothing store!! Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

I have hein gericke gloves / 2-piece HGR suit.

It was benchmarked in MCN or Bike mag, i saw the photocopy, and came around 4th out of 19 suits, beating some exceeding £1000, it was the cheapest suit there.

I have come off and my gloves took a right bashing, they had loads of contact point armour in the form of metal studs, and the stitching they used is outstanding! my fall took off some of the stitching and worn some of the studs and i use them still today.

Just seen this post. Like to add another vote for Hein Gericke. I used to think their stuff was expensive until I tried it. Excellent value well made stuff. Recommend.

The only downside I've had is the shops are so small they don't have the sizes of stuff I want. They'll order but I was told I'd have to pay for it up front and then get a refund if I didn't like/wrong size etc. So summary IMO, great if they've got what you want or you know the size to get from the website.

I went into a Hein Gericke shop in Paris on friday. Good sale on but it was too hot to buy something then carry it around Paris. Smile
