Ive had it with my Asda one. It fills a 28L dry bag no matter what method i use to pack it, its heavy and its got to go.
Can i get something that will keep me dry, pack small as possible for up to £40 odd?
Ideally something two people can sleep in, but that wont be too often, but still possible if needed.
I think my current one is 3.5kg and as i said packs huge, so maybe something like this?

The Gelert Vertigo. Lightweight, the pack claims something like 2.6kilos. It rolls up real tight and the inner/outer pitch as one so if it's pishing down the inside stays relatively dry. Talking of rain, I've been in it through some really torrential stuff and remained bone dry. Really quick to pitch it as well, I've done it in 93 seconds from pack to pitched and even at a leisurely pace you're not talking more than 3 minutes or so. Tonnes of room inside, i'm 6'2 and I can sprawl out in it with space for all my gear too.
It's an old model now so you can pick it up for around £45.

I use a gelert tornado 3 man, used it in this country and in Spain (high up in the Pyrenees) and it has been perfectly waterproof, weatherproof, is lightweight and I can put it up in about 7 minutes.
Has a porch with groundsheet for gear storage too.
Was about £40 off eBay 5 years ago.

Kids at that age will want to be very close to mum and dad, but separate 2 bedroom option could be good as wall divider is gossamer thin, the kids won't feel too isolated and you all hear everything .
Everybody's tent needs are different so if you can get to Go Outdoors and view pitched tents that may help, Decathlon will erect any of their tents for you for the asking.
Your budget I don't know, a friend has this and it has loads of space and is very well put together, for the money it is impressive https://www.decathlon.co.uk/arpenaz-family-41-tent-id_8294502.html and generous space for the kids to play inside if the weather sours.

Thank you so much for your recommendations. Too bad I didn't know about the go outdoors site before as that Icarus tent seems really good. I ended up going for Vango Kaveri 500 https://www.vango.co.uk/gb/5-person-tent/86-kaveri-v-500.html from £230 from snow and rock.
The one I got seems smaller and more expensive. Does not seem to have any advantages over the Vango you posted. Too bad I need it for this weekend or I would be returning it.
