Attached a picture of a large and very long bolt which found its way into my rear tyre while riding on way to a family camping holiday after work on Friday.
I cannot visualise how it got from the surface of the road right the way through the tyre causing a slow puncture which left me stranded in a layby. No point on it.
I flagged down a van, who did not have room for the bike, so he went home, offloaded some stuff, came back with a plank, took me a mile up the road to his mate who is a mobile tyre repairer, charged me £25 and repaired the tyre there and then. Both guys absolute lifesavers on a Friday night of a bank holiday weekend.
Has anyone had anything bigger/nastier stuck in their tyre? Other tales of good Samaritans helping out and going above and beyond?
I must admit when I got in the back of the van with the bike I thought what am I doing, no-one knows where I am, I have no idea where this guy is taking me and cannot see, I also wondered how much I was going to get charged for the repair, but faith in humanity restored! ____________________ NSR 125 (with L-Plates) > 1994 NTV 650 > 2015 CB650F > 16 VFR800F |

I had an entire spanner (ring-ended one) go through a brand new rear on my Blade. Mikey-J came and got me in his van and drove me 30 miles home. ____________________ "There's the horizon! Ride hard, ride fast and cut down all who stand in your way!" |
