If you are on Third Party Only policy, do you still build up a no claims discount each year? A mate told me you can only get no claims on TPFT and fully comp.

Can this no claims built up on third party then be used to get fully comp later down the line (making it cheaper later on)

That was the approach I was going to take for a couple years ^

The difference between TPO and TPFT is massive for me, so it'd piss me off if I didn't get a NCD on TPO that I could then use to build up no claims to get full coverage later.

Bleh stress, please give me the answer I want to hear.

As far as I am aware you get NCD on TPO. TPFT is cheap for me in rural nowhere though so I may be wrong as always go TPFT.

Yes you do. since I consider insurance to be pretty much a scam I go with minimum requirements each time.

No Claims Discount is normally earned at every level of cover, but maybe some insurance companies will try to find a way to discourage you from having 3rd party only cover.

I was recently quoted £87 to renew fully comp on my 125, but £140 for 3rd party fire & theft, and declined for 3rd party only.

I have also been trying to find cheap car insurance for my 17 year-old daughter - for a Renault Clio 1.2, £2,695 fully comp, £11,000 for 3rd party only!!!
