Hi all, looking at getting a new printer as my old one has started playing up.
2 Options
HP Laserjet pro cm1415fn - around £80 +£10 in fuel
Toner levels vary between 60-80% but the inks from my old printer are compatible (brand new black)
Possibility of trading old printer in and getting few quid back in spares.
Page count at 2000ish
New toners only does around 1300 pages at £13 each.
Sold as 'refurbished' by a tech firm.

Option 2:
OKI MC361dn - around £125 including postage
Toner desribed as nearly new + brand new black
Specs make it look more suited to a large amount of documents - last longer?
Toner does 3500 pages at £15 for black (2000 pages colour)
Comes from an office that are selling as they are going wireless.

So which works out the better investment?

My printing needs are usually just invoices etc and labels for parcels but will increase as my business hopefully improves.
Also, will be printing uni work etc for me and my family.

Thanks, Grant

i would look at toner cost as that is the bot were the money will be going in the long run seeing as you are printing in black the first on is about 0.01pence per page and the second one is about 0.004 pence per page.

it may also be worth looking at how reliable each machine is and weather you will have to invest in repair of replacement sooner rather than later.

if it was me, I wold go for the second one

My next printer will be an HP laserjet because of their driver comaptability across platforms.

Make sure both can print duplex. I wouldn't have a printer which only does single sided these days.

A quick look at the reviews suggests that the HP is a much more substantial device but I see no manual paper feed? Could prove tricky to do labels and envelopes? Check if this is the case.

My first thought on the other was "What the hell is an OKI?"

My personal thoughts are panning out along the lines of "I would chose neither.". I'd have a laserjet but not that one.

Not sure if this is an endorsement or a warning?

i'd probably say an endorsement though we log a lot of issues for them, they do get a serious hammering in some of the offices and most of the issues are things like roller replacements and servicing
