Hi guys,

2 days ago after work I realised I left my fuel valve on prime and it flooded the engine and crankcase with petrol. 5 Litres of fuel went into the engine got mixed with oil and everything.

I drained all the fuel/oil mixture and removed the oil filter. Also removed the fuel from carburettors the same day.

Today I got new oil and both air and oil filters delivered.

I took off the fuel tank and removed the spark plugs and turned the engine manually until all petrol was out of the cylinders, it was only in the left one. Also took off the air box and carburettors. Cleaned the carburettors as they had junk in them and checked the needles, they were all good and then put everything back together.

But after pressing start button all I got was a clicking noise. I had this once before what fixed it was putting bike into gear moving it forward and the starter would work again and engine would start.

Battery is just charged but would not start the engine all I get is clicking noise from Solonoid.

Any ideas guys?

Thanks

[an update]

I tried to bump start the bike but no luck. So I took the gas tank off to check for spark and take a closer look at the starter motor.

After taking out the starter motor and testing it, things became more clear. Starter motor was busted. When I took it apart it just had lots of dust in it and brushes were gone, so I ordered a new brush plate.

When turning the crank shaft the spark from spark plugs was really small and faint is that how it suppose to be? Sparks on my car are much bigger and visible.

Any suggestions why bike still wouldn't start even when bump starting?
