It was well staffed, and Dougie was very helpful with showing me a used CBR500R and the new 300R.

He had the information on them, it was no problem to call Honda UK to get more, and was well informed, polite, friendly and not pushy.

The first-offer trade in price on my BMW was reasonable. I was genuinely tempted to start haggling in earnest, but there are no 300 demonstrators available yet, nor accessories, so I've left it for now.

No problems, drop back in any time. Nobody chest-bumped me for parking outside.

That is all.

It will soon change as soon as they have had a few Kentthecunts visit or not as the case may be.

Wow that's one hell of an improvement aint it!

It goes to show I guess how much percentage performance increase is available with tuning on a simple basic engine design.

Kind of reminds me a bit of BL A-series engine tuning too!

It just goes to prove. ..if you act like a normal decent human being, you will get treated as such. Whereas, if you act like a total immature fuckwit, you will get treated like one.

^^^Agree with sentiment.

Even if it's an A-B bike it should at least warm the blood.

Gird your loins sir.

I fail at being a prat. There is a bike on the pavement though...

The Enfield is spiffing, I'm looking for something with less torquepower and size and weight than Ze Beemer. Riding around at 1/4 throttle 90% of the time seems like having Alyson Hannigan wrapped up in duct tape, but only letting her elbows peek out I'd imagine.

I'm genuinely finding it much more stiffening to show a slow bike the whip.

I was in stealth blue today, not being Careful.

Eh, I believe that everyone deserves a 2nd chance (except Jizz Bunny). I'd previously said that I'd had a bad experience when looking to buy a bike from VD, but that was a couple of years back. This time was very different. Fair play and all that, flux under the bridge.

Seriously though, have you actually tried a "serious" bike? Not suggesting a fireblade or R1 as the be all, but plenty of other stuff out there to make your loins tingle and your hands shake. Try it all Thumbs Up

I wouldn't enjoy it. I don't like speed, and I especially don't like getting there without noticing. Even the power delivery on a Bandit 650 was a bit smooth for me. I actually rather liked my GPZ500, and am only avoiding getting another because I've already had one.

I'll doubtless have a CBR600F at some point, it seems de rigeour, but not this time round.

The spiciest thing I'm considering at the moment is the long delayed RC390, because I am an idiot. I could get a Duke 390 now, but I don't want two nekkids, variety and all that.

Things were simpler when I rode cheap hacks; having a bike that can be traded for a new 'un actually limits the options a bit. First world Übermensch problems.

I didnt enjoy walking off a solid structure hundreds of feet above the ground attached to an elastic band, but the subsequent rush reminded me I was alive. To be honest, I agree, go with what you like, but you have to make sure you try the alternatives.

Too much of litre bike= faggot going on here!

I'd much rather have a new Ninja 300 with some tuning work and simple tweaks to thrash the living shit out of than a new Rev to the moon ZX10R that has no brutality low down like it should.

But not as much as i really want a V-max 1200 with handling tweaks and a big bottle of N2O strapped on the side. Laughing

Well yes, a Honda is pretty much one step away from a cruiser in excitement, so appropriate for people of that, ah, 'leaning'!

Wink

A ZX10R may not be quite as 'brutal low down' as some other litre bikes, but compared to most bikes in a gear with a similar max speed, I'm sure any year will fare decently.
Especially compared to a modern GPZ300, even if you 'tune' it - even before considering that first gear on the litre bike is similar to top gear on the beginner 'girls' bike.

I would suggest Mr Borg should have taken up my offer and had a play on the 200 - which at the BBQ was reminding why I liked that engine so much (I hadn't actually ridden it since I'd 'bought' it, though I had previously ridden when Paddy happened to be working in the area and left it at his old workplace.

Also, for the price of a silly 390 fall-apart bike, you won't buy this kit, but bet you could get an older 250sx and pay some bloke in a shed to create you one of these:
https://www.450gp.com/images/KTM_SX250_GP%202011.jpg
Not a massive amount more power than the 390 duke, but likely a massively more fun delivery.
Or for a bit less power, base it on the 200 - slightly tempted to try this with my 200. Should be extra easy to lower the front with the RWU forks, though ideally it'd need new yolks for different angles I believe.

Finally - I used lots of throttle lots of time on my GSXR commute. Perhaps you just need to turn the throttle more Wink.

I tried turning the throttle a fair amount when riding home. My arms hurt and everything was too loud and have you seen the price of butter these days, shouldn't ought to be allowed.
