Oxford Oximiser model OF950 fire risk.

I've been using an old Oximiser for a couple of weeks, and it seemed to be fine until this morning when the wire between the unit to the battery caught fire. No harm done I think (I haven't checked the battery yet) but that fucking thing could have set the house on fire.

I emailed Oxford Products Ltd to ask them if they would cover the cost of postage if I sent the unit to them - I figured they would be very concerned that their product spontaneously combusted. This is the reply I got:

I'm unsure what you were expecting.

Have a look at all this, then personally guarantee that at no point in the lifespan of the charger has it ever been exposed to any of the points mentioned;

As for Oxfords involvement, if it's old & outdated, past its years warranty & has potentially been misused by a previous owner...Why on earth would they get involved in anything other than a goodwill gesture of having a look at it for you?
