Probable pea-roast but its just one reason why I don't bother, the other reason being lack of ability.

For anyone wondering what a tankslapper really looks like, take a look.

Can't believe anyone is stupid enough to post proof of dangerous driving like this after the dick head on the Cat and Fiddle road got lifted following his youtube footage being seen by the Old Bill!!!

If I did wheelie, IF I did, it would be on a crappy machine that I didn't care too much about, like a £400 scooter / commuter.

Why even risk a decent machine doing something stupid?

Regardless of the stupidity of it, when it happened, what should he have done? I know that re-pinning it to get the front wheel back up again is a known cure for a tankslapper, if you're quick enough. I've heard releasing your grip completely on the handlebars and leaving the bike to sort itself out gyroscopically is an option as well, because holding on to the bars just makes things worse (maybe you could grab hold of the underside of the tank to stay on!). What would you have done?

I've never had a talk slapper, only lots of wobbles under acceleration on corner exits or when I hit some rough surface. In theory I know what to do when the tank slapper occurs, but I doubt I would be quick enough to react correctly if it ever happens to me for the first time.

My Fireblade has got HESD so not so much worry about tank slappers, thanks god.

He was along for the (short and bumpy) ride as soon as it landed. Nothing he could have done with that.

What he should have done is land the wheelie with the wheel straight. As Pete says, once it started he was a passenger. There's no way he had any control over the throttle, clutch or brakes with the bars slapping like that. The relatively aggressive geometry of the Triple meant it was unlikely to sort itself at that speed.

Applying the throttle is impossible when the bars are going left to right with such violence and if you try to grip the bars you'll end up with broken wrists/thumbs or be thrown from the bike violently.

and here is another wheelie gone wrong, looks expensive as the bike undresses itself

Nasty I've had a few twitches when touching down but that is bad, I think the key is definitely to land it square!
