There's a 97 Honda Firestorm down at my local dealers with only 5k yes 5k on the clock...

Only thing is there asking 3k for it, is this daylight robbery?!

I'm tempted to test ride it today but I can't help thinking 3k for a 97 reg bike is steeeeep??

A dealer wants to fiddle your ring piece, get their cut etc.

I'd personally get shot of the Daytona on eBay classifieds, use the cash to buy yourself something tasty.

A dealer has to include overheads AND their profit.

Plus the price you see they expect people to haggle for it. If some sucker does pay the sticker price then they are quids in.

It's probably worth it in a way, the question is what else can you get for that - probably a better bike.
Make an offer if you like it.

It is with great regret I have to let this bike go, I do have a genuine reason for selling and I can assure you if you come to view you won't be disappointed.

...is blurb.

Needs moar pics. All angles, tyres, chain/rear sprocket, fit bird in a bikini, the usual.

i dont care how low the mileage is
its an old bike that isnt rare.
it might be a sought after classic in a few years but i doubt it.
its also unlikely to be anyones"must have at any price"dream bike.

this spring i bought a 1999 model (import)with just under 20k on it
for £700
i hated it so i gave it a clean put some new pads in the front and sold it on for £1400
there are so many bikes out there, why pay premium price for something thats not what youre lusting after?

Why do you want to change from a Daytona 675 to a Firestorm?

I have a Firestorm and I rate them as a sporty runaround/tourer, but you're likely to be disappointed with the handling, brakes, and probably the engine, compared with a 675.

And that bike is definitely not worth £3k. It doesn't even look 5k miles to me. 5k miles is virtually unused. A late reg 2nd generation (2002+) Firestorm with similar genuine mileage would probably fetch that price.

If the mileage is genuine, that one's probably worth £2.2k max.

The SP1 has done triple the mileage and is a cat C write off.

R1 looks like a far better buy though (although it was out of MOT when the auction ended).

All the best
