Right guys I'm looking to book a CBT tomorrow and I'd like some advice on who I should go with. I'm in the fife area and am restricted to how far buses will take me. So I was thinking of going with pro scot because my older sisters boyfriend went with them and that's who he recommends. But I'd like some second opinions. I'm quite flexible on price so quality of service is something I'm looking for. After all I don't want to get on the road and ride dangerously and or die.
Thanks for the help in advance! |

If your older sister's boyfriend is still alive, I would go along with his recommendation - there really isn't a massive difference between different CBT providers as the course if fairly standard and broken down into 5 elements, only one of which will put you in control of a bike on the road.
Whether or not you become dangerous largely depends on what you do after the CBT - you could pootle about on your own initiative, book a few lessons, watch some YouTube videos, get some tips off mates, or book yourself on a DAS course.
CBT is just a starting point from which you never stop learning and improving.
Good luck ____________________ Honda Varadero XL125(V8)

That, really.
Whomever you go with, understand that you're paying for training, not to be abused. If in doubt, ask. If you need more time, take it.
I'd check with them beforehand how much they'll rinse you for doing a 2nd day.
If you turn up and there are more than 2 trainees per trainer, fire in early doors asking how they're going to arrange the 2:1 road runs.
Enjoy... ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

As others have said, horses for courses.
No matter where you go, the CBT will be in no way comprehensive.
Even if you're just staying on a 125 (lol), do the lessons regardless.
I did it the wrong way around, learn from my mistakes. ____________________ The above post is most likely nonsensical.

I think it makes a massive difference if you have some previous experience as a road user - even as a cyclist - compared to some new bikers that have none whatsoever.
Some don't even bother to read the Highway Code! ____________________ Honda Varadero XL125(V8)
