Just noticed these on ebay deals. clicky

50 x AA
or
50 x AAA
or
30 x AA + 20 x AAA

£11.79 inc postage. I'm not up to speed with all the different types of Duracell, but this seems like a good deal.

I get my car air fresheners and lithium batteries for my digital camera from this seller. Most stuff arrives next day.
I've also bought brass hose fittings for my jet wash from them.
No need to worry about whether or not the batteries are genuine.
Sometimes the expiry date is sooner rather than later but apart from that they are bob on.

Only thing I have found with procell batteries is that they are all or nothing. they work fine then die rather quickly, no trailing of of power.

I remember the last time I bought a pack of 50xAA batteries for £10.

Paddy and Iain also remember this.

Essentially, from 50 batteries, I didn't have enough power to take 1 photo with my camera. Burning the £10 note would have proved more useful.

As they say, if it seems too good to be true....

If they are Duracell Procell, they're what we have in the stores at work and I can confirm that they last a number of weeks in an xbox controller.

Bad batteries literally do nothing though. Once had to try a pack of Ikea batteries (didn't even know Ikea sold batteries until this point), I literally needed them to power a wii-mote for 2-3 seconds to allow me to press play on Netflix and they couldn't even manage that.

Do you remember what brand they were?

I bet if I buy these batteries, I still won't be able to find one when the remote dies! Rolling Eyes

You need watch for current ratings which is not always disclosed on bargain batteries.
For an undemanding application the cheap ones might be fine (e.g. some clocks will run for months on a battery acting flat in a torch)
Similarly we have a radio transmitting yard alarm which will not even power up without the correct type (= more expensive) PP3 battery
Babzmedia is a good seller though, have often bought from there.

It seems to be a particularly competitive area and they knock the high street sellers into the long grass.
I doubt the shops can buy them in at that price.

In the year 2014 only two types of AA/AAA batteries are needed.

1. Cheap poundshop batteries for long period, low drain applications.
2. Sanyo eneloops rechargeables for everything else.

It would be a waste of a eneloop, but they would actually work fine in long period, low drain applications too unlike most other NiMHs.

I learnt not to skimp on batteries after the Space Shuttle fiasco of 2012, I'll get to that in a minute..

But sort of on topic but also not. When you find your remote has stopped changing the channel, take the
batteries out and bite them a couple of times enough to dent them a small bit and put them back in again.
You will get another couple of weeks out of them in your remote.
I thought BS after a mate told me this but it really works.
Cheap and nasty batteries dent easier than high quality ones so mind your teeth.

PS> A digital camera couldn't fvck a battery quicker and more thoroughly if it had a 10" nob and a gramme of speed.
I use lithium only NOW, they are dear but worth the expense. Sometimes you will never get that chance of that pic again!
My little Samsung digital camera died on me as I was taking photos of the Space shuttle Endeavour
piggybacking of a massive plane flanked by two fighter jets during its very final flight. Once in a lifetime
photo opportunity! And we were in Universal Studios at the time on the tour ride thingy. Regular Duracells were
put in that morning but I had used the camera a fair bit that day.

I got 3 bad photographs and it died. Worse still with the bloody lens sticking out and
so I couldn't put it back in its case either. My Samsung died with a boner Shocked
By now the shuttle had long gone and I only got those grainy crappy snaps of a space shuttle flying over Hollywood.
Nowhere in the theme park seemed to have batteries to buy and I ended borrowing a couple from a very
friendly American girl just to rid my camera of it's erect lens. Laughing

We did get some better pics of it from the plane as we flew out of LA the next morning and they were
craning it off of the piggyback plane as our plane took to the runway.
I know it's off topic but should serve as a warning to those who rely on cheap batteries. Smile

I was on my honeymoon at the time after 3 weeks in the States...
it was all over the news the whole time we were there. Never thought we'd see it. (Twice) And on the last day too. What a treat.
