OK.

Confession time.

Im doing some building works in my house, and had to grind off a piece of metal in an odd place/ awkward unsafe to get to.

Couldnt find my goggles.

Thought 'this is too unsafe not to use goggles, and I cant be fucked to go to Wickes and buy a new pair'

So I did it in my motorcycle helmet instead.

Your turn Cool

I impregnated myself not once, but twice, with my helmet. I regret nothing.

Saw a lady wearing one in the swimming pool the other day. I asked her mate what the hell was going on and she told me don't worry luv, she's just trying to hide her cold sore.

Back in times past my dad was a lagger (pipe insulation) and I was about 8. He was working through the night on a job in some factory without a hard hat and resorted to using a ropey old motorbike helmet abandoned in a disused locker room.

I woke up to find a blue bike helmet perched by my bed. I wore that hanging old lid pretty much everywhere (took it to school, supermarket, mates houses etc etc), thought it was soo fucking cool. Ended up giving me a huge rash on my face, probably a mixture of fibreglass dust and years of filth. Not to be put off, I wore it with a tea towel over my head to protect my cheeks. That knackered and grotty old lid was one of the first things that made me want a bike.

I remember putting on an "any allergies" form when I was a kid that I was allergic to motorbike helmets.

Used it to smash a car windscreen.. but not through choice!

We did do some "stress tests" on a couple of old helmets.

Brayed it off a spiked fence post... held up pretty well tbh.
Put a knackerd helmet on my mate, then hit him with a bat a few times. Rolling Eyes
Probably the most fun thing ive done was taking an old nitro down were i shoot and shot at it with a 5.56mm a .303, a .50 muzzle loader, .22 semi auto and a shotgun.. held up well to bird shot, wouldnt break the visor at 25 yards, slugs on the other hand just blew the arse out of it, split it in half with about 4 shots.

I think im a little bit of a redneck.

Steve.

I've used a lid instead of goggles before.

I also used to wear it playing Formula 1 Grand Prix on the Amiga

Have worn mine playing Forza on the Xbox.

Also if anyone remembers those Harlem Shake video's? Well I used my full-face mountain bike helmet to star in one of those. It was dont in a night club in St Albans and I was bouncing around a packed club with a full-face on...

https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xaf1/v/t1.0-9/188268_10152093874225288_448540793_n.jpg?oh=74abb48537c3a5d3ad5b13ea8e727101&oe=54D135F3&__gda__=1418319904_ea3add009377d2d3a9abc4ef3fb72677

Also I've sneezed in my helmet and the snot covered the inside of the visor.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Wore mine to chop onions preparing a massive chilli to feed 60 for a party. After the first couple of onions my eyes were streaming so I donned the lid and it worked a treat.

Also used mine to accidentally shop lift. Put a tub of butter in the helmet while shopping and didn't find it unlit I left the shop.

When me and my bro were younger we used to run about the house with a helmet on each pretending we were racing making all the noises.

One of the races used to start in the kitchen and finish line was top of the stairs. Always use to try and stop each other near the top of the stairs.

Had some good times until one day. We were going up the stairs for the home straight and I grabbed my bros leg and wouldn't let go. He proceeds to open my visor and drop his pantaloons. He 'exhaled' into my helmet then shut the visor and held it shut. I tried not to inhale but eventually couldn't hold my breath and gave in Sick

That was probably nearly 20 years ago and I'll never forget that. (I didn't win that race Sad )
