Sky Broadband Connection Problems - SOLVED

Is anyone else having problems connecting to the internet? My router says no DSL connection. The phone line's definitely ok. At the moment I'm usb tethering to a smartphone.
I can see the router and have reset it, both soft and hard resets, still nothing.

Nothing today but give Sky a call, I find them very good at resolving problems.
Sky has a pretty good status checker, google it and check your post code.

Have you checked if the DSL filter is in properly and nothings fallen out? Sounds stupid but I have had that happen before Rolling Eyes

Just because the phone is OK. Means nothing. Could be a issue at the exchange on the broadband side.

Turned out that the router was knackered, not surprising since it's an ancient Thompson router from BE Unlimited, which was bought out by Sky last year.

Have to say Sky's customer service was great, I used their online chat helpdesk, instantly got connected to the same bloke who helped with a problem about five years ago! Quick exchange of words and he's put a new router in the post, arrived two days later.
