PostPosted: 13:50 - 29 Sep 2014    Post subject: WTF - Hein Gericke back in the UK? Reply with quote

Just checked my bike related email account.
Had a message from Hein Gericke UK.
Ah! Some spam I thought from someone who's acquired the defunct company's mailing list.

Apparently not so Shifty
From Hein Gericke Belfast store.

https://mail.hg-newsletter.com/res/3630/14_cw39/Header_KW39.jpg

Their Facebook page has an article on Hein Gericke getting back into the UK with a store in stores business model...

https://scontent-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xaf1/v/t1.0-9/s720x720/1907445_269320959933299_6431713570956602906_n.jpg?oh=2fe46f60e117b2a03ce3e71b4d1613f3&oe=5483A57B

Still don't know if can be believed or a flash in the pan? Confused Thinking
I cannot find a UK website for them.
The original German hein-gericke.com site does not have a UK link or list any UK stores.

FWIW I did like HG kit. I'm waiting for it to wear out sufficiently bad enough (one reason why they went under perhaps) to try the other German outfit, Held, offerings.

It will be one of those outfits that buy bankrupt stock. I bet theyre flogging it on ebay and Amazon as well. Anyone can stick a defunct company name in their window when theyre sellinh that companys old stock.

Thinking Interesting.
Yet for me still doesn't tie in with using the www.hein-gericke.com on the 40% discount advert when that site doesn't even acknowledge their existence.

Plus also using the Hein-Gericke logo when they do appear to be a separate company now. Have they paid HG Germany for that use or just hoping they won't notice?

Are HG Germany supplying the goods or, are they made in a totally separate, Chinese factory with HG labels sown in? Or maybe HG Germany and HG UK are using the same Chinese (or wherever) factory?

It has a not quite right, all there, above board feeling IMHO.
I'm willing to be proved wrong, show me the evidence Thumbs Up

Their York shop had a time limitation outside of a couple of hours, presumably to stop people parking up and visiting clients over the road for a couple of hours. Razz

So considering the warranty is backed up by Gore-Tex you have of course contacted them to discuss returning it haven't you or it this just something extra for you to whine about?
