#bloodybikers, is how.

Hopefully he did enough damage on the way out that she won't be able to pass it off as a parking prang and someone will shop her.

I sincerely hope that she will get home and have a massive case of the guilts followed by turning herself in. Although the guy who hit the girl on the ped in Bournemouth didn't suffer from that and still claims he has been unfairly treated.

I don't know how people could just abandon someone who is obviously suffering

'Green or grey hatch' - but it was definitely a woman.

Can't identify the colour, make or model of the car, but the driver was definitely female. Amazing what the human brain omits to distinguish sometimes.

Hopefully she (if it's a she) turns herself (himself) in and saves the police trawling

"Miss matched tyres, not my fault" or similar "need to keep driving or lose job" excuses

or

"Biker must have been speeding, they all do your honour, so deserved it"

I cannot understand how anyone could just leave a person in any injured state and just fuck off. I also have no confidence the poor riders' family will get any justice.

The burden of proof should be the least vulnerable is automatically at fault unless there's evidence to the contrary. E.g. Car hitting cyclist, is automatic fault for the driver unless there is proof the cyclist did something wrong like blasting though a red light with ear phones on.

Erm, I think we can stick with guilty until proven innocent

Anyone know what the max penalty is for an offence such as this?

What an appalling incident.
My sincere good wishes to the cyclist for a quick recovery from the injuries sustained.
I hope the female car driver concerned has the compassion to come forward and explain why she did not stop.

The drive off?

You can in principle be done both for failure to stop and for failure to report.

5 - 10 points and discretionary ban, £5000 and up to 6 months in pokey for failure to stop. Another 5 - 10 points and £1000 for failure to report. That's your whack, they're summary offences only.

50 hours of community service but that'll only happen if the judge is feeling harsh!! Shocked

The death by dangerous driving (or whatever the offence turns out to be) is one thing, leaving the scene of such an accident should be treated much more harshly than it is.

If you carry on reading the comments "dick" wrote that and then the article was updated to a Motorcyclist and it being a Fatality.

Doesn't look like she's done anything wrong though.

This shows how unreliable witnesses can be, a woman in a dark car was in a collision with the bike. The driver is no longer thought to have been in a collision with the bike.

Who struggles to differentiate between a bus and a lorry? I know most drivers are partially sighted, but are the blind now getting licences too?

That'll learn me to go with my first instinct, which was to say: Luke out.

Sad times all round.
