Just a quick question, basically does anybody know if you can get some removable lights that you could velcro or clip to a bike fitted with race fairings so they could be removed during the day? Basically the idea is that you would have a plug somewhere on the bike and be able to connect the lights up when it gets dark. This would be needed front and rear and would need to be connected up to the standard lighting wires so that the brake switch would still work. Thumbs Up

Isnt it better to ride with lights on all the time?
Cage drivers have enough excuses to knock us off as it is without the 'i didnt see your lights' line.

Well you could have the lights on any time it is just for this purpose they would need to be removable because of my mate not wanting to cut holes in his race fairings.

A lot of those Ascerbis and powerbronze 'mini fairings' which contain lights are designed for exactly this but on moto-x bikes. They fit on with bungees, plug in at a three pin connector (standard headlamp type) and are designed to be fitted, removed for a race then reattached for the ride home.

Wouldn't be hard to make/adapt something similar.

I can't see how they would be attatched to the bike, after all they would stick out a fair way. The easiest way to do it would be get another top fairing with the lights in.

Basically, you could have some sort of valcro or plastic clip stuck under the front fairing between the forks underneath where you would normally have the lights. They would stick out I suppose but that isn't a problem because they would be removable.

Something like this that could be fitted to a motorcycle if needed.

Ahhh.

I suppose you could do it and the wiring wouldn't be a problem (just have a normal block connector) but I can't see those light being any good.

I know, i'm basically looking for something powerful enough to replace the motorbike lights, I don't suppose it would cost /that/ much to get some made up for the purpose?

If anyone else can help I would really apreciate it. Thumbs Up

Ok, this is a flame and I admit it.

Andrew, you use the word 'Basically' FAR too much. I just mention it because a lot of people (myself included, don't know about others on this forum) find this REALLY annoying.

I would advise you to just miss the word out altogether, it is not necessary for the structure or meaning of your sentence. Try to avoid using it in conversation .

Not that it is or should be any of my business Rolling Eyes Wink
